Just some swirly thoughts

Normality, morality, molarity…

With a conversation about AMF in Ateneo and Biochemistry in UP with Regine came a recollection of a most interesting idea by Dr. Viktor Frankl, founder of the Third Viennese School of Psychotherapy (following Freud and Adler):

“An abnormal reaction to an abnormal situation is normal behavior.”
-Page 38, Man’s Search for Meaning (Frankl, 1984)

Don’t ask how it got to that. But anyhoo…

Normality is completely and utterly relative—based on norms and not some absolute standard of propriety. I suppose, then, that we must always and continually question what is normal to arrive at what is true.
